FCC České Budějovice Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Our subsidiary, Ltd company FCC České Budějovice, s.r.o., celebrates its founding twenty years ago. The company was founded in January 1998 under the name .A.S.A. České Budějovice, as a joint venture with the City of České Budějovice. In 2016, the process of re-branding .A.S.A. companies in the Czech Republic was completed, as the result of which .A.S.A. České Budějovice was renamed FCC České Budějovice. odpadové taxi české budějovice

The past twenty years have been characterized mainly by expanding the portfolio of services the company was offering. Hand-in-hand with this also grew the number of the firm’s employees. The initial headcount of 60 has increased over the course of the twenty years to double that number. Hence the original premises were no longer sufficient. Part of the company was located at the Lišov landfill and another part, including the company headquarters and greenery management, at a leased building in the city center, in Krajinská Street. Moving these two parts together was accelerated among other factors by the fact that the then .A.S.A. started to provide for the City also winter and summer maintenance, which made it possible for the company to move into a vacated complex of the former Technical Services in Dolní Street.

Thus our firm at present provides to the City of České Budějovice comprehensive waste management services, round-the-year maintenance of selected streets, and takes care of greenery in the city center and along roads. We operate civic amenity sites and mobile recycling collection facilities for large volume and hazardous waste. We also provide a special service, the so called waste taxi, which continuously drives through the city and empties any bins which could not be, for instance for technical reasons, carted on regular tours or because the inhabitants moved them to the street outside of the scheduled waste collection day. Our firm also takes care of the Lišov municipal waste landfill. In this locality was in 2015 commissioned as new modern sorting line. At the same time, developed on the landfill body was a new composting facility which was put into operation in early 2017.

And as the company continued to expand the portfolio of the service provided, the fleet of special vehicles grew as well. In 2009, the firm added to the fleet two multi-purpose machines for cleaning sidewalks and roads around the year. The number of these machines has grown to the present five. In addition to other waste cartage vehicles, in 2017 we bought an electric street vacuum cleaner. In 2018, we acquired another special steam cleaning machine which is used predominantly in the city center for cleaning park benches and tables, waste bins, bicycle racks, bus stop sheds and other municipal facilities, or for hot steam weeding.

Beneficial to the company’s stability and expansion of the portfolio of services has been our close cooperation with the České Budějovice City Council.
