We are committed to improving the quality of life for the current as well as future generations through efficient waste management services. This is our „Service for the Future“ - the mission that encompasses all of our activities. We are neither indifferent to the environment nor unaware of the problems that our planet faces. For this reason, we cannot watch indifferently as nature is destroyed and animal and plant species continue to disappear.

fcc beeA safe haven for endangered insects

The importance of pollinators to the economy is greater than you can imagine. 84% of plant species and 76% of food production in Europe is dependent upon bee pollination. At the same time, the population of bees and other insect species are decreasing as a direct result of human activities. Our project - to introduce floral meadows at our operations sites - offers these insects peaceful and suitable habitats to populate and reproduce in, including a variety of plant life to graze on. While it is clear to us that we will not be able to save the world with this project alone, it is at least a step in the right direction and we are able to do our bit to improve the current situation.

FCC Insect HotelSustainable solution

Our “Insect hotels” are created from used waste bins and wood that we find at our collection yards, thereby affording this waste the chance of a second life. To further promote sustainability we are also using only recycled or natural materials for the interior sections of the hotels.

We strive to improve the living conditions of insects in the vicinity of our sites. We hope that in this way we can contribute to slowing down the decline of pollinators by providing these insects with peaceful places to live.

Who is our project intended for?

All species of bees, beetles, ladybirds and earwigs, lacewings, bumblebees, wasps, butterflies, hover-flies and any other insects looking for a place to reside and prosper are welcome at our FCC insect hotels!

Our hotels offer luxury accommodation, including full board and a gourmet menu. Our restaurants serve specially selected ingredients, such as straw, dry grass, moss, reeds, cones, dry leaves, walnut and coconut shells, sticks, twigs and bamboo or straw stalks. There is definitely something for everyone here!

As well as a delicious mix of wild flowers, our hotels and bee meadows provide the perfect peaceful environment for insects to thrive in.

Our colleagues are delighted to take care of our guests and are more than happy to fulfil their every wish, therefore we‘re sure that each and every visitor or resident at our hotels will be most satisfied!

And, you will be able to visit even more hotels in our international chain very soon.
