.A.S.A. shows to Dr. John Pugh MP, the British Parliamentarian, the Central European sustainable waste management and recycling model

The close collaboration between .A.S.A. and FCC Environment (www.fccenvironment.co.uk) within the FCC Group was used to fostering mutual understanding between business and British Parliament for the public benefit. 

.A.S.A. as one of the mayor market players in the field of Waste to Resources and Citizen Services sectors in Central and South Eastern Europe was chosen as a good example to demonstrate  the Central European sustainable waste management and recycling model to Dr. John Pugh MP, the British Parliamentarian. “We have chosen .A.S.A. to examine recycling infrastructure and consider the future of this sector in Central and South-Eastern Europe” explains Mr. Pugh. 

On February 7th-8th Dr. Pugh visited different facilities in  .A.S.A. countries , in particular the Waste to Energy Plant in Zistersdorf (Austria), sorting, splitting as well as composting technologies were presented in the course of his visit of .A.S.A. plants in Bratislava (Recopap) and Trnava (both in Slovakia).  “I’m interested to observe how a waste management company operates. It was great to talk to an international company that is at the forefront of the modern recycling industry – an industry which has both a huge potential and is of major social importance”, means Dr. Pugh.

This visit was organized thanks to close support of The Industry and Parliament Trust (http://www.ipt.org.uk) by FCC Environment.  The Industry and Parliament Trust is an educational charity that has a very high profile in the UK Parliament.  It is supported by all of the leaders of the main political parties in the UK, and its objective is to improve the understanding of how UK business works among Parliamentarians (only a very small number of MPs have experience of business and industry).  FCC Environment has already supported the work of the IPT for several years.
