FCC on Podhale Recycling Days
01/10/2018
On 27 September, an annual edition of Podhale Recycling Days was held at the Town Square in Nowy Targ, where you could see environmental presentations and exhibitions and take part in art competitions and workshops. FCC was a partner of this event.
Participants of the action could see an interactive exhibition, presenting selected laws of nature and rules of physics. Bike-electricity generator, maelstrom, Newton's cradle, a grand kaleidoscope and numerous wheels with optical illusions attracted a lot of attention. The action was accompanied by scientific demonstrations and educational games. When visiting selected stands, you could learn about different light sources and their spectra, how to differentiate a charged and discharged battery without using a voltmeter or how to build a light bulb from an ordinary pencil. Visitors could also build an electric cell from fruit and vegetables as well as spectroscopes from old CDs and cardboard. The youngest participants could take part in an environmental contest on the principles of waste sorting and participate in art workshops where eco-pins were made, jute bags were painted and toys from recycled parts were made.
The main objective of the Podhale Recycling Days is to raise the residents’ environmental awareness regarding the appropriate disposal of used electrical and electronic devices as well as packaging waste from households.
