International awards for communication strategy of remediation project Kamenné Srdce
FCC in Slovakia (previously .A.S.A.) organized a complex remediation project of toxic waste substances which were deposited in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia in central Europe, more than 50 years ago. Because of the proximity of this toxic burden to local residents it was necessary to communicate closely with the public from the very beginning of the remediation procedure.
Therefore, FCC provided several effective communication channels, including:
- All publicly available information found on the website www.kamennesrdce.sk
- Leaflets for citizens living around the area of remediation; with facts and information keeping people up to date, minimizing any potentially negative responses. Regular press conferences attended by; representatives of the Ministry of the Environment, major Slovak media providers, as well as other important persons related to the project. Face to face communication with local citizens, where the facts of the project were explained in detail.
FCC, in cooperation with PR agency 'Dynamic Relation', was able to develop a very successful communication strategy and the project's significance has been recognized by international competitions and awarded:
- 1st place in PROKOP 2016 (category Community relations)
- 1st place in EMEA SABRE AWARDS 2016 (Central and Eastern Europe)- GLOBAL SABRE AWARDS 2016 – with our project amongst the 40 best PR projects in the world- 'National Champion' at the European Business Awards 2016.
