RESPECT Continues: Four New Stories Behind Cleaner Cities

RESPECT Continues: Four New Stories Behind Cleaner Cities

Some time ago, FCC Environment launched the RESPECT campaign to draw attention to the everyday situations faced by waste collection crews and to encourage greater appreciation for the important work they do in our communities.

The campaign received positive feedback and encouraged discussions about safety, responsibility, and mutual respect. Encouraged by this response, we decided to continue the campaign with four new stories inspired by everyday situations our colleagues experience while keeping our cities clean and safe.

Over the coming weeks, we will gradually introduce four new videos focusing on:

  • Crossing the Line – the risks of trying to overtake a garbage truck by driving on the sidewalk.
  • Not My Job – why bulky waste should never be left next to containers.
  • Safe Distance – why keeping enough distance behind a waste collection truck is important for everyone's safety.
  • Hide-and-Seek – how proper placement of waste bins helps ensure safe and efficient collection.

Each story is based on real situations that waste collection crews encounter during their daily work. While these moments may seem ordinary, they can have a significant impact on safety, efficiency, and the quality of the public spaces we all share.

The videos are not about pointing fingers. They are about helping us see familiar situations from a different perspective—and reminding us that respect is something we build together every day.

The aim of the RESPECT campaign remains the same: to promote safer behaviour, strengthen mutual understanding and highlight the essential work of the people who help keep our communities clean every day.

We invite you to follow the campaign over the coming weeks as we share each new story.

Because behind every clean street are people who deserve not only our thanks, but also our respect.
