The very first hotel in our international chain is a prototype, surrounded by a floral bee meadow, which has been created to celebrate the occasion of ‘World Bee day’ (May 20th, 2021).
The first hotel is an international cooperation, just like our whole Group, as it is equipped with natural materials originating not only from Austria, but from the Czech Republic and Slovakia as well.
The land around the incinerator has already become a popular place for bees and many other insect species, once again proving just how clean the incineration process really is, as insects in particular are very sensitive to air quality.
Establishing the first of our bee meadows is a way of saying thank you to our insect friends, as well as an acknowledgment of our colleagues at Zistersdorf WtE plant who can enjoy the view and fragrance of the floral pasture every day.
In June 2024, the FCC thermal waste treatment plant in Zistersdorf introduced three new insect houses. These additions are part of the broader environmental strategy of the entire FCC Environment CEE Group.
