Wood
The demand for wood is so high – more than 400 million m3 of wood materials are consumed by the European industry yearly - that it cannot be satisfied without recycling. Recycled wood is used in wood chip boards in the furniture and construction industry as well as a source of energy in power plants. Besides preserving natural resources using recycled wood in wood chip production saves energy: Using 1 ton of recycled wood as fuel in power plants substitutes approximately 600 kg of stone coal or 900 kg of brown coal briquettes.
