Launch of a new FCC facility in Prague-Kyje, Czech Republic

On Thursday, October 19, FCC Česká republika launched its new facility in Prague - Kyje. It is a collection yard with a waste transshipment which currently serves for businesses from the business sphere, e.g. waste management companies or construction companies. The construction of the facility was financed by FCC Česká republika, s.r.o., which also operates it.

The main part of the facility consists of a transfer hall with four storage spaces, from which the waste then goes to its own end facility. There is also a collection yard with seven large-volume containers for waste from small producers and a sealed certified mobile collection station with containers for hazardous waste.

The total designed capacity of the facility is 95 thousand tonnes of waste per year. The construction of the collection yard with a waste transhipment station will provide an official large capacity space, that the City of Prague could rely on for example in case of natural disasters, such as floods in 2002. The transshipment station in Prague-Kyje, as well as in Prague-Ďáblice, could become a part of a long-term system solution for waste management in the City of Prague.
