Supporting 'Earth Day'

Supporting 'Earth Day'

Since April 22nd 1970, 'Earth Day' has been celebrated worldwide. FCC Environment CEE fully supports the idea of empowerment through knowledge and inspiring people into action in defense of environmental protection, through; our ecological education programs and supporting and joining local events in the CEE region.

“We don't usually organize special events for this particular day ourselves, rather we focus on cooperating with local partners. We join and support local events, such as 'Earth Day' at the Mining Museum in Zabrze. We have also organized an “Open day” for pupils from local schools, at our MBT plant in Zabrze (Poland) on April 21st” explains Lucie Zumrová, Head of Group Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility.

This fruitful cooperation with local partners has been running now for many years in the Czech Republic. We will be joining in with the celebration of Earth Day in cooperation with partner cities in four regions of the country, during the course of April 2017. Entertaining outdoor events for families and children are going to be held, with the added bonus that these events help to enhance our reputation as a reliable partner of the municipalities we serve. These all-day events will include various competitions and presentations, with the aim of providing participants with information and valuable education in the field of waste management, as well as to present our company in a favorable light, in a fun and engaging way.

In Slovakia, parts of the Earth Day celebrations include; a drawing competition, within the Ecological Education program “Smietko” and an excursion for children at our plant in Zohor, where they can get an up-close look at the treatment technology we employ there, as well as seeing how an active landfill really works.
